With the number of overseas events continuing to increase, it’s surprising how many clients think that the UK policy also covers the cars worldwide, for example in America or Africa.
The Road Risks section of the policy extends to cover countries within the EU but if cover is required beyond that we must be advised as we can often arrange cover beyond the EU.
The certificate of insurance excludes “rallies “ but this term is intended to mean competitive events where proper rally cars are used, not general touring rallies. The cover provided is for use on the public roads in the UK or Europe where the normal traffic laws apply. It does not cover closed toll roads like the Nurburgring or competitive sections on circuits , race tracks or rally special stages.
